Jos Menten and Peter Kox did not have an easy start of the season. Two weeks ago the Dutchmen scored their first points in Germany. How many points they collected, will depend on the appeal of PK Carsport against the decision of the technical commission of the FIA. The Belgian team was disqualified after the race due to the capacity of their fuel tank. In the meantime All-Inkl.com Reiter Lamborghini is doing everything within its power to bring the Total 24 Hours of Spa to a good end. The Lamborghini Murcielago R-GT #8 has been completely rebuilt. With Jeroen Bleekemolen in the team as the third driver, the team is ready for the race of twice around the clock.
"It's nice that we can start with three Dutch drivers in the only 24 hours race of the FIA GT calendar", says Jos Menten. "We all have a lot of experience, and Hans Reiter did a wonderful job preparing the car for this race. Apart from the chassis everything is brand new. For me it will be my ninth 24 hours race; the fourth in Spa. During my period in the Belcar I drove many miles in Spa-Francorchamps. If I can continue to improve my Spa- results, we should be able to finish fourth or better. In 2003 I finished ninth. I didn't participate in 2004, but in 2005 I finished eight with the SRT Corvette C5-R. One year later I was able to take fifth with the PSI Experience Corvette C6.R."
The race of two times around the clock will be of great influence for the outcome of the Championship. At the moment All-Inkl.com Reiter Lamborghini is third in the team's Championship. Therefore it's important that both Lambo's score points. The gap with the second in the running order, Scuderia Playteam Sarafree, is only seven points. The following ground rules remain critical: "To finish first, you first have to finish. This means: don't push in the first hours, collect points at the six and twelve hour marks, and work your way up the running order. In the 24 Hours of Le Mans of 2006, JLOC encountered a problem with the engine with the chequered flag in sight. But Le Mans, with its long straights, is much more demanding for the engine. Let's hope we can continue our progress and score some more points for the Championship in Spa."
