Next month will see Swiss racing driver Harold Primat enter the Liqui-Moly Bathurst 12 Hours with Phoenix Racing.

2012 saw Harold achieve great racing success in the FIA World Endurance Championship with Rebellion Racing; with six podiums in the LMP1 Privateers Class including two victories and a third place at the 24 Hours of Le Mans.

2012 also saw Harold make a solid GT3 debut with Phoenix Racing in the Blancpain Endurance Championship at the Nurburgring.

Harold heads to Bathurst, Australia, next month with Phoenix Racing; winners of the 2012 Bathurst 12 Hour race. For the race on February 10th Harold will be joined by Swedish racing drivers Johan Kristoffersson and Andreas Simonsen.

Despite the fact Bathurst is a new race for all three drivers, the team head there with the aim of defending their victory from twelve months ago.

Harold will be driving the No.1 Audi R8 LMS Ultra which will have a striking livery, emblazoned with Australian symbols including kangaroos, red-back spiders and the traditional Australian road symbols.

“Bathurst 2012 impressed us not only because we won. It was Phoenix Racing’s first commitment in Australia, an impressive continent with an extreme racetrack that due to its characteristics can certainly be compared with the Nürburgring-Nordschleife.

We’re really happy to be on the Bathurst grid again. For Johan Kristoffersson, Harold Primat and Andreas Simonsen, Bathurst is new territory but all three of them have enough experience to master this challenge;” commented Ernst Moser, Phoenix Racing Team Director.

“We are very happy to go to Australia together with Harold to compete at the Liqui Moly Bathurst 12 Hour 2013. It is a great race on a very special track.

Last year we won the race and it was the beginning of a great year for us, winning the 24h of Nürburgring and the 24h of Spa afterwards;” commented Bernhard Demmer, Team-coordinator Phoenix Racing GT.

“This year we are ready for the challenge again. There will be tough competition from a strong field of GT3-cars battling for the top positions. Lots of experience and a good race-speed is what you need for this challenge and Harold brings both to the team.

We are pleased to continue our good relationship with him for this race and are really looking forward to the race down under;” continued Demmer.

“I am looking forward to racing at Bathurst with Phoenix Racing. I had a great experience competing in my first GT race with the team last year and was able to make a lot of progress throughout the weekend.

Bathurst is one of the most prestigious and challenging endurance races for GT cars. Although it is my first time racing here I am racing with the best team – the winners of Bathurst 2012!

I am looking forward to working with my two teammates who both bring a lot of experience in GT racing;” commented Harold Primat.
