Kuwaiti racing driver Khaled Al Mudhaf will join the local Dubai based Gulf Racing Middle East squad in this year’s eighth edition of the Dubai 24hr with the Lamborghini Gallardo LP600.
He is joined by drivers Frederic Fatien, Fabien Giroix and Stefan Johansson who achieved pole position for the 2011 event.
This is the first 24hr race endurance race for Khaled and the first time the country of Kuwait has been represented at this event and with 85 cars on the grid for 2013, the Dubai 24hr marks one of the largest motorsports events in the region.
Khaled has previously raced in GT, mini endurance and sprint races over the past three years with Maserati Trofeo, Radical and Ginetta race cars.
Over the past few months whilst maintaining a strict fitness schedule, Khaled has been testing in Portimao with the Nissan Nismo GT3 GTR where he set impressive lap times during the cars initial development stages.
“I’m really excited to be racing in my first 24hr race. This year I’m totally focused on my racing and I want to be competing alongside the best drivers in the world, and many of my heroes are here at the Dubai 24hrs.” commented Khaled
The race takes place at Dubai Autodrome Circuit and starts at 2:00pm on Friday 11th Jan finishing 24hrs later at 2:00pm on Saturday 12th.
