The top British finisher, at a phenomenal eleventh overall and second in class in their first year of Group N operation, Gilford Motorsport fielded three top drivers in their distinctive red BMW E36 M3 at the Spa 24 hour race in August. 82 cars started and only 38 finished.

Ex Caterham racer Ross Bygrave celebrating his 21st Birthday - started the gruelling race 16th on the grid of this world famous race, realising a lifelong ambition.

He was followed by Jeff Wyatt of Milton Keynes - on his third successful 24 hour, having achieved 1st in class and highest British entry in the Nurburgring 24 hours in June of this year and 2nd at Spa last year, and the third driver was Tony Dunderdale - Nurburgring 24 hour eighth in class with Gilford, and Group C racer.

Bedfordshire-based Gilford Motorsport led the Group N series in this great race for four hours, until a diff replacement lost 16 minutes, allowing one of Luigi Taverna's M3s to overtake and gain three laps and take the podium!

Third in the Group N class was the GTS M3 also a British entry, driven by Ian Donaldson, who also drives for Gilford Motorsport.

Gilford's first year in Group N has brought 8th in class at Spa - with young Ross again, 5th in class at Nurburgring 24 hours, 3rd overall and 2nd in class at Zandvoort piloted by Ian Donaldson and Joe Macari and now this latest 2nd in class.

Gilford's next race is at Hockenheim, with hopefully Ian Donaldson again in the car. Watch this space ...
