Romanini, qualifying with a question mark

An unusual qualifying for Diego Romanini at the 24 hours of Dubai. Due to the particular regulations of the race, which imposes to the SP2 class (the one of his BMW M3 E92) not to lap faster than 2'10", to avoid one lap of penalty. This time as much as four teams in this class didn't respect such a limit and for this reason the Italian driver was down to 33rd place, 8th in his class. But the race stewards are still deciding on this matter and for this reason, Diego is confident to be able to get his deserved position back thanks to the penalties for the irregular teams.

"Only tomorrow, when I'll go to the track very soon, given that I will do the warm- up and the start, I'll know my grid position," Romanini explains. "This race has a particular regulation, but for us this is not so bad, because we have a pace right on the 2'10" limit, so we will try to do a very consistent race. The Black Falcon team was perfect as usual. The qualifications were like a shakedown for us, but then we were very fast, especially in the free practice when it was getting dark. We aim high and I think that without mistakes we could also try to get the class win."
