An unsatisfying class podium

The 2009 edition of the 24 Hours of Dubai was a mixed one for Diego Romanini. The Italian driver, who raced for the Black Falcon team at the wheel of a BMW M3 E92 together with Sean-Paul Breslin, Frank Bierther, Christer Joens and Dillon Koster, took the third place in the SP2 class and the 22nd overall, but the satisfaction for the podium is overcome by the disappointment for a win lost in the very last moments of the race.

The # 52 team was in fact leading his class and battling between the sixth and the eight overall position until 37 minutes to the end of the race, when a clutch failure ruined the great job done until that moment.

Understandable disappointment for Diego, who comments: "There is little to say. The race was going as we expected, but unfortunately the luck didn't help us and we couldn't bring home the deserved results. Anyway I thank my team-mates, the mechanics and the team who worked hard to try and get the class win until the end."
