Team Captain Olivier Doeblin announced today that the endurance race team of Cool Victory has completed an agreement to take delivery of the newly developed GranTurismo MC for the 2010 season. Unveiled only this past April, Maserati is producing a limited run of just fifteen of the racecars, homologated for the European Cup and National Endurance Series.
Demonstrating its strength, the MC made its race track debut during the sixty-first running of the 24 Hours of Spa with a second place finish. Cool Victory expects to take delivery of its new car in September and will immediately begin setups for its engagement at the 24 Hours of Dubai.
"We see this as a nice addition to our development program for the long run to the 24 Heures du Mans," said Team Manager Ric Lee. "This will give us the opportunity to develop our relationship with the people at Maserati and put us on a track to work with a mark that has a long and successful racing history."
The development of Maserati GranTurismo MC is another step forward for the Trident-logoed Modenese manufacturer that was originally founded in 1914 to tune and subsequently build racecars. Maserati's victories include the Indianapolis 500 in 1939 and 1940, and F1 World titles in 1954, 1957 and 1967. In 2004, the factory launched the MC12 racecar that provided Maserati victories at Spa 24 Hours in 2005, 2006 and again in 2008.
The Cool Victory team looks forward to the coming race calendar and working with team Maserati.
