Third round of LMS this weekend - Salon Prive report - unusual restoration project

The new Algarve race circuit in Portugal hosts the third round of the 2009 Le Mans Series this coming weekend - August 1st and 2nd - with Team Modena heading south to the holiday destination looking for a strong finish in the LM GT2 class of the series.

Second in round two of the LMS at Spa in May, the team's driver line up of Antonio Garcia, Leo Mansell and Jaime Melo will be aiming to go one place better this weekend and take the team's first GT2 win.

Lamborghini Countach LP400 Periscopa at the Salon Prive

Last week we took a Lamborghini Countach LP400 along to the prestigious Salon Prive meeting at the Hurlingham Club. The event was blessed with good weather and it was great to meet up with customers old and new with some of the the most exotic modern and vintage super cars in the world, with the exquisite and exclusive Hurlingham Club as a backdrop. We would thoroughly recommend this event to any enthusiast and we are looking forward to next year's event.

The concours arena is an area in which we plan to become more active in the future - watch this space.

Triumph Spitfire Restoration!

Ok - not our usual fare(!) but recently one of our Maserati service customers - asked us if we would take a look at an old Triumph Spitfire that he owned. This 1962 model was the gentleman's first car and was bought new. Anyway 47 years later - the car whilst definitely retaining some patina - was clearly somewhat worse for wear!

Who says you can't turn the clock back? - The boys in the restoration department are to undertake a full restoration on this charming british sportscar - and it really will be restored to "better than new condition".

Seeing the car parked next to an Enzo makes you realise that automotive driving pleasure comes in all shapes and sizes - and running costs!

Next Race: Le Mans Series, August 1st and 2nd, Algarve Circuit, Portugal.
