Glad to be back at Spa
After the Istanbul chapter, the Le Mans Series are back on one of the classic tracks which will enable the prototypes to show their real performance. Courage Competition will be present with 2 LC70MUGEN- ADVAN prototypes, the n°13 and the n°12. Yves Courage : After a very good and fruitful test at Magny-Cours last week where we covered more than 1500km on 1,5day with one car and 200km with the second car for it's shakedown, Spa - Francorchamps is for us again an opportunity to work thoroughly on the cars in race configuration and continue the development of the chassis/engine/tire package. Having the 2 cars at Spa will enable us to collect a lot of additional data and it will also be a good practice for the whole team for Le Mans.
The driver line up
The n°13 car in ADVAN colours will be driven by Shinji Nakano and Haruki Kurosawa. Yves Courage : Shinji and Haruki are getting a long very well and did great during our last tests and this way we will have the opportunity to work some more on the tires with Shinji.
The n°12 car will be driven by Jean-Marc Gounon and Alexander Frei. Yves Courage : I'm happy that Alexander will be racing again. He is a member of the family and showed during our tests that he's determined to do well. Jean-Marc will be in charge of the set up.
The other Courage cars in action this weekend
5 C65's in the LMP2 Class :
After an impressive race and victory in Istanbul, bringing the total of victories of a C65 chassis to 11 - a record, the C65 of Barazi-Epsilon will be one of the favourites this weekend. Paul Belmondo Racing will be present with their 2 cars and will develop further with their new engines. The local favourite will be G-Force where local journalist and GT racer Stéphane Lémeret will join the line up. Kruse Motorsport will be back starting their 2006 season with 3 German drivers.
The LC70 of Swiss Spirit in the LMP1 Class :
Being present with us during the tests at Magny-Cours where they learned more about the car, the Swiss Spirit team showed already at Istanbul that they will be one of the competitors to reckon with in the Le Mans Series.
