Tracsport Off To Flying Start At Silverstone
6th in class, 18th overall.
Le Mans Endurance Series team, Tracsport got off to a flying start in first qualifying for Saturday's 1000km race at Silverstone with a fast lap time of 1:49.187s, set by Caterham ace John Gaw.
With second qualifying curtailed due to a gear box problem, the new-look Tracsport Lola B2K/40 sits sixth in LMP2, behind French WR entry, Gerald Welter and ahead of the PiR Competition Pilbeam.
Despite being forced to sit out much of the rain-hit afternoon session, the No Fear/Man Financial Group/ DMIPI/Carlube- supported Tracsport car will start round three from 18th place overall -- an improvement of nine places on the Nurburgring grid position, achieved on the team's series debut early last month.
Round three of the Le Mans Endurance Series begins at 2.00pm on Saturday 14 August with live coverage on Motors TV.
