Green Fuel Nasamax Judd Up To Sixth Place at 17.20 -- Just After Halfway Through Race

At the Silverstone round of the Le Mans Endurance Series which started at 14.00 BST, Werner Lupberger brought the car in for its first fuel only pit stop at 14.49 in 11 th position, staying in the car and dropping briefly to thirteenth place as a result of the pit stop and then back up to tenth position with a time of 1 min 46:443. At 15.38 he handed over the car to Frenchman Romain Dumas at the same time as the team topped up oil, refuelled and changed tyres.

Werner: 'The car is sliding all over the place, front and back. It's the new regulations we're running to, they take away downforce and this is a high downforce circuit which does not suit us. We've got the 20mm plank underneath the car as well and our ride height is higher. The renewable fuel does not give us any problems, the Judd engine is so powerful, we are still fastest in a straight line.

'There is a lot of traffic but I have to say the marshals here are doing a great job and giving us signals in good time. There are huge lumps of debris flying about all over the place, you can see on the TV pictures all the big bits of rubber and even bits of car, and it's only been a few hours. This is an interesting project, there's some real brains behind it, and it can only be good for motorsport.'

Romain Dumas stayed in the car after the stop for tyres and fuel. Technical Director John McNeil: 'We're steady, we can't keep up with the leaders. If we push too hard, the tyres go off. We're happy with where we are at the moment, ninth position after 79 laps at 16.25'.

However, Romain Dumas pushed the car to 8 th place at the start of his second stint, and into seventh position at 90 laps. At 96 laps, Romain returned for tyres and fuel, staying in for a third stint, jumping to sixth place on the leader board.
