Stefan Mucke behind the wheel of the best petrol car on position four at the LMS season finale at Silverstone - Next weekend in adoption at GT1 World Championship at Portimao
Silverstone (rol/ot) Always expect the unexpected - that saying became true last weekend (11th / 12th of September) for German sports car pilot Stefan Mucke. The Berlin came to an adoption last minute at the season finale of the Le Mans Series (LMS) at Silverstone (England). The 28 year old Aston Martin works driver, last year's Champion of the Le Mans Series, has been on a great position four at his second LMS race this year in the closed LMP1 Sports car prototype together with his British team colleague Sam Hancock. Right behind three favoured Diesel cars of Peugeot (2) and Audi the Berlin drove the best Petrol car at the 1000 km race of Silverstone that has been the fifth and last LMS season run.
"The fourth place was the maximum that we could get. Our car ran very good and we didn't have any problems. I am really happy about this placing and at the same time about having raced a LMP1 car again", tells German Stefan Mucke that has been on the podium with place two at the season opening of the LMS five month ago at French Le Castellet (11th of April) at the eight hour race. At Silverstone the Berlin started from position six with the starting number 009 and completed two double stints. "That was hard work but also great fun", underlines the 28 year old. Even with only two races at the LMS, in the overall ranking he made it up to position nine being in between the top ten drivers.
Next weekend (17th to 19th of September) the next adoption already is scheduled for Stefan Mucke. That time he will be behind the wheel of an Aston Martin DBR9 again for the Team Young Driver AMR on the Algarve racing track at Portugal near Portimao at the FIA GT1 World Championship with the season runs 13 and 14.
