Stefan Muecke and Jan Charouz were in action for the Skoda Charouz Racing System team during both practices on Friday for the 1000 km race at Silverstone. The pair set fourth fastest time, second among the petrol cars. Tomorrow all competitors have anothe practice and important qualifying for the Sunday's race that will determine the grid positions for the race that can last six hours maximum.

The German-Czech duo did 27 laps in each practice today. There were no major problems and the focus was on finding the right setup for the fifth race of the season that embraces six races. The only issue during the day was Charouz's collision after the Czech driver was innocent victim after the other driver closed the door at a corner. The contact damaged the front end of the car.

The Czech team still have a chance to finish in the top three in the championship and it is a big challeng for the team led by Antonin Charouz. The result of the race will influence the decision about participation in the last race of the season in Brazil.

Stefan Muecke: "It was a bit complicated today mainly due to the fact that I am still learning quick corners here. It is only my second visit to this track. It was also difficult to find a space for one quick lap but it is not surprising as we have almost 50 cars here. Anyway, our Lola Judd worked very well ad I think that we should be in a good shape for the qualifying. Both Jan and my set very consistent lap times and we should be very competitive in the race."

Jan Charouz: "I am sorry for the collision that caused extra work for our mechanics. However, it was not my fault. The driver ahead closed the doors at corners repeatedly andwhen I was almost ahead he crash into me. He ran over the front of the car. Fortunately, it was not serious but it was a unnecessary crash. I got used again to the car in the first session I missed the car... It was okay afterwards. The only exception is very heavy traffic I had the same feeling like in Valencia. Maybe there was one single clean lap."

Antonin Charouz: "Jan's collision was useless, the other driver did not pay attention what happening or whatever. Overall I am fully satisfied. Once again we were able to confirm the position one of the fastest petrol cars."
