LE MANS SERIES GETTING READY TO START THE SEASON AT THE PAUL RICARD HTTT

Almost 30 000 kilometres on the 1A V2 track solution

Some 33 cars were present at the Paul Ricard HTTT during two days, 26 teams preparing the 2006 Le Mans Serie season and the famous Le Mans 24 Hours to take place on June 18th.

Teams decided to drive on the 1A V2 (6.035 km) track solution, using the one of the new corners created by Philippe Gurdjian, President & CEO at the end of 2005. In fact, the V2 Suzuka corner built in the Verrerie 'S', allows the fastest cars such as Formula 1 or Prototypes cars to be slightly slown down. Thanks to the never-ending hard work of Philippe Gurdjian and the innovations he applies, the Paul Ricard HTTT stays ahead of its time and ahead of technology, improving safety for cars and drivers.

Spring started earlier this week and the competitors had the chance to test heavily under great weather conditions, no rain and even if some clouds made an apparition by sunset, they were able to test until midnight last night to gather as much data as possible for Le Mans 24 Hours.

Philippe Gurdjian was happy to see that teams and drivers, as well as the 80 journalists and photographers present at the track were once again satisfied with their successful session: "I am really happy to be able to give teams and drivers always new solutions to improve safety. The new corner in the Verrerie 'S', the Suzuka V2 corner, was a good solution for Prototypes and they appreciated it. The Paul Ricard HTTT demonstrates once again that it can be adapted to another very competitive discipline."

At the end of the two day test session (14 hours on Sunday and 7 hours on Monday) the 33 teams ("LM"P1, "LM"P2, "LM"GT1 and "LM"GT2) completed 29'758 km. Yesterday's best lap time was set by Team Pescarolo while today's best lap was signed by Team Creation.
