Le Mans Series: Czech Lola/Judd Right Behind Diesel Pugs Trio Alex Yoong, Stefan Muecke and Jan Charouz proves to have retained great shape from previous Le Mans Series races and from the 24 Hours of Le Mans. Their factory Lola B07/17 was third out of fifty cars in today's free practice at Nuerburgring. There were only two faster cars, Peugeot prototypes with stronger diesel engines, which makes the Skoda Charouz Racing System-Lola/Judd's car the best of all gasoline-powered vehicles.

The time was set by Muecke, who is the most familiar with his home track of the trio, having driven here many times within the DTM series. Changeable, cold weather spanned over the circuit; the road was dry during the practice. It is supposed to get warmer Saturday, Sunday should be colder with rains again.

Tomorrow's program includes the last free practice and qualification that will determine the layout of the grid of the Sunday's 1000-kilometer (or 6- hour) race. The battle will start at 11:55.

Stefan Muecke: "The car is superb, even better than during the last Le Mans Series race in Valencia or 24 Hours Le Mans. The only thing we need to do is improve the weight distribution. That should be done without problems tomorrow. I can't wait for my only home race of the year."

Antonin Charouz: "I'm very satisfied. Being the best gasoline car is a good result. We hope to go on like this during the rest of the weekend."
