After a stunning first race of the season at the 1000 km of Barcelona, Speedy Racing Team Sebah will face a new challenge at the Monza temple of speed for the second round of the 2008 Le Mans Series.
Team Manager Bart Hayden is looking forward to the event: " We had a great result in Spain for our first race with the Lola B08/80 Judd Michelin. This achievement has created high expectations in everybody's minds, both outside and inside the team. The Barcelona event is now behind us and the team is totally focused on the next race at Monza, which is a totally different kind of circuit. Monza has very fast curves and chicanes, so we will have to find the right balance between aerodynamic, suspension and brakes. We haven't raced the coupe at Monza, but the team and all our three drivers know the circuit, so we should be competitive. "
As usual in long distance races, speed and reliability will be the keys for a podium finish. The team's Lola ran trouble free throughout the Barcelona race week-end with a second place in both qualifying and in the race itself. This reliability and pace gives the team some confidence for Monza race, but as mentioned by the team's chief engineer James Tomkins " We were quick and reliable in Spain but Monza is another challenge and we are still at an early stage in our learning and development of the car, we shouldn't forget that."
Sharing the wheel of the number 33 Lola Judd Michelin with Xavier Pompidou and Steve Zacchia, Italian driver Andrea Belicchi will drive in his " home " race next week-end: " I am very happy and proud to drive a prototype like the Lola B0/80 on a legendary circuit like Monza. For me it means a lot, Monza is an unmissable venue for an Italian driver. I hope that we will be able to produce a great result there in front of the Italian fans."
