QUIFEL-ASM Team wins points at Monza

The QUIFEL-ASM Team was denied a podium finish in the LMP2 class due to a slow puncture and a steering problem, in the Monza 1,000 km race. The Portuguese team ended in seventh place in the second event in the Le Mans Series Championship 2008, which took place today on the Italian circuit.

A slow puncture detected when driver Miguel Pais do Amaral was behind the wheel of the Lola B05/40 AER, led to the team falling back several places. In the final part of the race, Oliver Pla noticed a steering problem which forced him into a long pit stop.

For a large part of the race the QUIFEL-ASM Team was in second place in the LMP2 class, but string competition from its competitors, along with the aforementioned problems meant that place was lost.

The team raced hard and fast, which gives hope of a better result at the Spa-Francorchamps track, on the 9th, 10th and 11th May.
