Fourth best time at Monza

The QUIFEL-ASM Team achieved the fourth best time in the LMP2 class, in the first session of free practice for the Monza 1,000km race today. This morning Oliver Pla clocked 1:41:033 on the Italian circuit. This session was used to adapt the Lola B05/40 ERA to the circuit. The Monza 1,000km race, which is the second stage of the Le Mans Series 2008 Championship, is due to take place this weekend.

The afternoon session was interrupted on several occasions due to red flags. The high number of cars on the track left driver Miguel Pais do Amaral unable to achieve better than ninth place with a time of 1:42:715 behind the wheel of at the wheel of the Lola B05/40 ERA.

The afternoon session was used by Miguel Pais do Amaral, the team's only driver to race in this session, to try various tyre compositions and prepare for qualification tomorrow. The sun and heat were also present today on the legendary Monza circuit.

The third free practice session will take place tomorrow morning. Qualification will take place on Saturday afternoon. On Sunday morning a 20 minute session of free practice will take place before the start of the Monza 1,000 km at 11.50 a.m. (Lisbon time).

The start of the Monza 1,000 km race will be televised live the Eurosport channel and Motors TV and highlights will be broadcast Monday.
