Victory again for the C65 in the LMP2 class

After having done the fastest lap time in the warm up the race started at 12:30.

With Jean-Marc Gounon at the wheel, the C60-H Judd Advan LMP1 was racing against the Creation Zytek for 3rd position overall. After almost 2 hours the car was hit by bad luck and had to enter the pits again for repairs at one of the rear wheels. This made the C60-H lose 9 laps. Alexander Frei took over the driving and came back in the race in 23rd position. After some fine driv ing with constant lap times he brought the car back in 10th position and gave to car to Christian Vann who sprinted at the end to finish 6th overall and 4th in the LMP1 class.

Yves Courage:

"Everybody performed very well today. The start of the race was magnificent and seeing Jean-Marc fighting with the Creation Zytek for 3rd was thrilling and I started to hope for a podium. But then bad luck hit us with the problem at the rear wheel where we lost 9 laps, it's a shame. Looking at the final result without that problem we could have finished 2nd. Overall we're happy with how the team worked, the drivers did great and the tires performed very well. Tomorrow we start to work for the Silverstone race."

The LMP2 C65 n36 from Belmondo Racing wins the LMP2 class by finishing 4th overall. It's the 4th victory of a C65 LMP2 this year already!

After a 2nd and 3rd place in Le Mans Belmondo Racing has finally it's maiden victory in LMP2 in the LMES. Both cars of the squad were in the top three of the race till the n37 had a problem and stopped on the track. The n36 car with Gosselin, Ojjeh and Vosse took over and won with 1 lap difference .

Yves Courage:

"Well, they did it. Congratulations to Belmondo Racing with this first victory. They worked hard for it and they disserve it. Finishing 4th overall shows that the car performed very well and that the C65 is relia ble. Moreover it's already the 4th victory this year for one of our C65 LMP2 chassis in (12 Hours of Sebring - Mid Ohio - Lime Rock in the ALMS and Monza in the LMES). This shows that the C65 remains a winner."
