Seikel Motorsport on the podium at Istanbul!
The Seikel Motorsport Team finished third at the Le Mans Endurance Series finale, in Turkey! The Otodrom Park in Istanbul hosted on Sunday 13th of November the fifth and last round of the 2005 Series. The American Philip Collin expressed his enthusiasm about the track configuration: "I liked it, plenty of elevation change, blind apex's and exits, and a 6th gear kink ending with a downhill braking zone with slippery patches even in the dry to provide momentary wheel locking..."
Once again Philip Collin and the Austrians Horst Felbermayr Snr and Jr proved of their skill and experience and enjoyed their second podium in five races, in a no mistake run. As a note, the team's Porsche RSR, N 83 finished third, behind the two Ferrari Modena of Team Ecosse and GPC.
"Our drivers did a very good job during the difficult race and finished also the best Porsche car in the race. I'm very proud of them as of what they have achieved this year. The whole team did an excellent job during this season" said Peter Seikel at the end of the race.
The team finally finished fifth in the LM-GT2 standings after being the leader of the class after two rounds.
