2005 LMES contenders Tommy Erdos and Mike Newton will be contesting this year's Daytona 24 Hours in a Doran BMW Daytona prototype. They will be joining series regulars Burt and Brian Frisselle in a one off Grand Am outing in the Sygerny Racing JE4.

Erdos commented: "We are pleased with the package that we have secured for this year's Daytona 24 Hours, being familiar with the Doran chassis from our run here last year, and we believe that the BMW engine should be very strong. The Sygerny Racing team have immense experience and with people like Director of Motorsport Price Cobb and Chief Engineer Gary Grossenbacher - who have been involved with a number of winning teams at Daytona - there is a wealth of Daytona experience to draw on. We hope we can repeat our strong showing from last year."

In fact the AD Group supported effort is looking to go at least one better than last year's outing where their's was the 4th Daytona prototype home.

Erdos and Newton were in Daytona over the weekend to shakedown the car at the official pre-race test.
