Dino Lunardi will remember for a long time this Saturday, December 8, 2007. The French driver received an early Christmas' present, and what a gift: an one-day test at the wheel of the Peugeot 908 HDi FAP, winner of the Le Mans Series and 2nd at Le Mans 24 hours. He won this gift by winning the first 207 Spider Cup, with an impressive season : 5 wins, 9 podiums in a row and 7 pole positions in 14 races!
After two days devoted to the development of the Spider 2008 at Paul Ricard HTTT, Dino Lunardi tooks the wheel of the Peugeot 908 Hdi FAP on Saturday. For him, sportscar racing was a real discovery, since he had raced mostly in karting (1989-2001), then in Formula Ford, and in different championships organized by Peugeot: like RC Cup and Spider Cup. Indeed He was quite anxious, so much that Peugeot has anticipated his first run to Friday, just for 3 laps, in order to drop the pressure.
Saturday, he made his real test, with sixty laps of the Castellet circuit. To be ready, Dino Lunardi had been invited by Peugeot to a training preparation in October, and had spend a day in the workshops of Velizy. During the test day, he received the advices of Nicolas Minassian and Stephane Sarrazin. Finally, he has fulfilled his contract: "I am happy because I have committed no mistake. It is a wonderful experience. I have no words to describe it. In my dreams, it was the perfect day. One year ago, I would never believed to be here. Moreover, I think that I don't realized yet. But now, I have to come back to earth ! For the future, I do not know yet, but I hope I will have my chance. "
If no decision is taken from Peugeot Sport, Serge Saulnier, the team manager, confirmed that the test of Dino Lunardi was positive, and that it could be possible to make another test at the wheel of the 908.
