Creation re-sign Minassian and Campbell-Walter to lead 2005 attack
Creation Autosportif, the only team to have seriously challenged the all conquering Audi R8s in this year's Le Mans Endurance Series, has clinched the driving services of the super-quick Anglo-French duo of Jamie Campbell-Walter and Nicolas Minassian for 2005. Creation will be campaigning its DBA4 --03S Zytek in the Le Mans Endurance Series and a further, yet to be confirmed, programme of international races.
Sussex-based Frenchman, Minassian (31) is delighted to be continuing with the small, tight-knit prototype team. "To re-sign with Creation and have some continuity is exactly what I wanted. The team is a professional organisation with a very competitive spirit; all they want is to win and this is what I want as well. We all get on well, like a second family, and I am really looking for to 2005."
Former FIA GT Champion, Campbell-Walter (31), also recognises the huge advantage that continuity can bring to a team. "After four very successful years with Lister, I know what this [continuity] can mean. You work better as a team when you all know each other inside out, and your relationship with your driving partner almost becomes second nature -- you understand each other so well. I'm really happy that Nic and I will be driving together again and I'm confident we'll have a successful year."
Creation finished ahead of all its other prototype competitors -- except for the two Audi teams -- in the 2004 LMES, and opened everyone's eyes with stunning pole positions at the Nurburgring and Spa 1000Kms, as well as pole at Laguna Seca in the final round of the American Le Mans Series. The team will be working on a test and development programme over the winter months aimed primarily at improving reliability and durability with a view to competing at the highest level in the world's leading endurance sportscar races.
