The mission complete. Jan Charouz yesterday set a new unofficial record of the Masaryk Circuit. He clocked 1:43,719 behind the wheel of the Aston Martin powered LMP1 Prototype. The average speed was 187,534. The Charouz Racing system driver had 10 minutes for his run during the break in the Autumn Prix Brno. The fans had a unique opportunity, as the beautiful closed coupe had raced only abroad during the season.

Charouz did one lap on used tyres to warm the car up and than changed tyres. He got pre-heated new set and raced against the time.

The Czech youngster from Le Mans Series and 24 Heures Du Mans set time which will be new unofficial record of the track, as all previous records were cleared after resurfacing. He was 10 seconds quicker that the new official record set by Marcel Fässler with Corvette Z06 last week in FIA GT.

"It is definitely nice feeling, I hope it will last at least one year" smiled Jan Charouz. "Run was also our thanks to the Czech fans who did not have a chance to see us racing at home with the car this year. Unfortunately, it was very cold, so the tyres were not at their optimum. The lap would have been quicker in better conditions."
