Formula 3 European champion Felix Rosenqvist has been appointed as test and reserve driver for the Mercedes DTM team.
The Swede will succeed Esteban Ocon in the role, the Frenchman having been promoted to a race drive for the 2016 season in place of Formula 1-bound Pascal Wehrlein.
Rosenqvist will combine his Mercedes role with his season in Indy Lights with the Belardi Auto Racing team.
"I've had an excellent relationship with Mercedes for quite a long time and really feel at home in the team," said the 24-year-old.
"Of course, it will be a new experience for me to act as test and reserve driver for the DTM squad. Esteban undertook this role last year.
"He assisted drivers and readied himself for his future in the DTM. If you get the chance to drive in the DTM, you want to be as well prepared as possible, so from that perspective, this is a great opportunity for me to learn as much as possible about the DTM."
Rosenqvist tested the Mercedes DTM car for the first time at the Jerez circuit at the end of 2014, as a reward for winning the Macau GP.
