In Maastricht in The Netherlands, the first edition of "Race & Rally International" will be taking place from January 17 till 19, 2003. The event, organised for the first time this year, promises top class motor sport action: the focus is on experience, show and entertainment. Heart of the event is an impressive live-action arena, in which the "fascination motorsport" is being brought closer to the fans. They can enjoy the action from one of the 5,000 seats.
The range of activities includes all that motor sport has to offer: Formula 1, DTM, World Rally Cars, breath-taking free-style jumps and fascinating motor cycle stunts. The "paddock" calls for a stroll, allowing a close look at the numerous vehicles that are on display.
Abt Sportsline, Mercedes-Benz and Opel will be present in The Netherlands, entertaining the fans with their DTM cars of last year. In the paddock of the event, fans have the opportunity to carry out a tyre change on a DTM car themselves and take on other "pit stop crews". On the main stage, DSF-commentator Maren Braun will be interviewing the drivers in various Q&A-sessions.
Next to the two local heroes Christijan Albers and Patrick Huisman, who will be representing Mercedes-Benz together with Stefan Mücke, Mattias Ekström and Martin Tomczyk are expected on behalf of Abt Sportsline, as well as the two Opel-drivers Manuel Reuter and Timo Scheider. Doughnuts are planned, too. Saturday evening will see the Race & Rally Show Night, with a range of world class drivers taking the stage and getting behind the steering wheel themselves.
