Peter Dumbreck (OPC Team Phoenix) will start the fifth round of the DTM at the Norisring seventh on the grid. On the same row as the Scot, who has qualified so far for each one flying lap session of the season, is Joachim Winkelhock (OPC Opel Euroteam). Manuel Reuter, who like Winkelhock was in the super-pole for the second time, finished with the ninth best time.

Volker Strycek, Opel motorsport director:

"We made it again into the super-pole qualifying with three Opels. Our drivers made small errors but they tried their best and anything can happen in the race. 72 laps is extremely long, there is much to come. I can see a chance for good race results, particularly since Peter Dumbreck is drove a good run."

Peter Dumbreck, (OPC Team Phoenix) 49.696, 7th:

"I'm not content at all. Already in qualifying the time was not good. In my super-pole lap I braked much to hard before the first corner, I am annoyed at myself."

Joachim Winkelhock, (OPC Euroteam) 49.772, 8th:

"I'm pleased to have qualified in the single flying lap session again. If we had got the tyres up to temperature as in the former session, more would have been possible."

Manuel Reuter, (OPC Team Holzer) 49.959, 9th:

"We decided on a small modification (to the car) which the engineers did very well. In my super pole lap I locked a wheel into a turn when applying the brakes and steered in too late."

Jeroen Bleekemolen, (OPC Euroteam) 49.423, 13th:

"We came much nearer to the super-pole session but we're not quite there yet."

Alain Menu, (OPC Team Holzer) 49.481, 15th:

"We changed the car since free practice again and I had to get used to it. It's not good that as a consequence, after three times in the super-pole, I was not there today."

Timo Scheider, (OPC Team Phoenix) 49.680, 19th:

"In the first attempt I made a small error in the chicanes. The second try was better but in the middle sector I simply lost too much time in the chicanes."
