Miguel Molina has lost his first place spot on the grid.
His joy about claiming pole position only lasted a few hours. On Saturday evening, Audi driver Miguel Molina lost his first place on the grid for the second DTM round at Oschersleben.
Regular post-qualifying inspection of his Audi RS 5 DTM revealed that the end plates of the rear wing stuck out 2.7 and 1.5 millimetres further to the back than stipulated in Art. T3.16g of the the technical regulations (Article T 3.16g).
As a result, the stewards of the meeting excluded the Spaniard from the results. Accordingly, pole position goes to BMW driver Marco Wittmann, the winner of the season opener at Hockenheim. All other drivers also move up one position on the starting grid.
The team renounced an appeal, Molina will be allowed to start the race on Sunday (13.30hrs, 12.30 hrs BST) from the back of the grid.
