Bruno Spengler Behind The Wheel of a DTM Car

Montreal, Canada, November 10, 2004 -- Earlier this week, Canadian race car driver Bruno Spengler drove an AMG-Mercedes C-Class car of the highly popular and very competitive German DTM series.

Spengler, a works Mercedes-Benz driver who competed in the Euro Formula 3 Series for the past two years, was invited by Mercedes-Benz Motorsport to take part in this test. On Monday, November 8 Spengler drove 40 laps around the Hockenheim circuit aboard Jean Alesi's, 470-horsepower Mercedes racer. For Spengler, it was a first experience behind the wheel of a touring car.

"I really liked the car," said the 21-year old Canadian. "It has a very good road handling and quite a bit of power. It was really fun to drive and it was a great experience for me to drive in such professional conditions."

Spengler was scheduled to run more laps on Wednesday, November 10 but the rain and the freezing temperatures forced the team to cancel the test.
