Audi starts 2009 DTM season with fourfold victory

DTM: Audi managed a perfect start to the 2009 DTM season at the 100th race of the new DTM: Tom Kristensen, Timo Scheider, Oliver Jarvis and Markus Winkelhock clinched a fourfold victory of the Audi A4 DTM and delivered the best start to a season in AUDI AG's DTM history at the Hockenheimring in front of 91,000 spectators. It could have even been a fivefold victory for the brand with the four rings but a puncture on the penultimate lap cost Mattias Ekstrom the win that already seemed sure.

No points for Audi R8 LMS at Adria

FIA-GT3: Prior to the third and fourth rounds of the FIA GT Championship at Adria (Italy) the basic weight of the Audi R8 LMS was increased by 50 kilograms. As a result, none of the four R8 LMS cars were able to score any points on the twisty circuit on which weight plays a crucial role. Christopher Haase and Christopher Mies (Phoenix Racing) had the best opportunities but were entangled in collisions in both races. Nicolas Armindo and Cesar Campanico (Team Rosberg) were unable to start due to a technical problem. In fourth place, they continue ranking as the best Audi drivers in the overall standings.

Coming up next week

24-hour race at the Nurburgring (Saturday/Sunday)
