Audi DTM teams present themselves

The official countdown to the 2004 DTM season opener, on April 18 at Hockenheim, begins with the DTM presentation held on the city hall market square in Hamburg. Audi Sport Team Abt Sportsline and Audi Sport Infineon Team Joest, the two works teams, unveil their new race cars sporting the finalised sponsor design to the public for the first time. Christian Abt and Mattias Ekström will make a few demonstration laps around the 'Binnenalster Lake' with their Audi A4 DTM cars. The 2004 DTM season will already have been opened ceremoniously on Monday evening with a grand gala evening, to which VIPs from sport, show business, politics and culture are invited. Among the guests is lady downhill skier Maria Riesch who, as 'star of tomorrow', established herself in the Ski World Cup elite this winter. The 19-year old is a member of the national Alpine team of long standing Audi partner the DSV (German Ski Association).

DTM dress rehearsal at Brno

The two works teams Audi Sport Team Abt Sportsline and Audi Sport Infineon Team Joest travel directly from the DTM presentation in Hamburg to Brno in the Czech Republic, where, from Thursday to Sunday, the last official DTM test is held before the season starts. Three race cars are available for the six Audi DTM works drivers during the "DTM dress rehearsal". The construction of the remaining three race cars has already started at Audi Sport in Ingolstadt.
