The season-closing DTM race will take place at Hockenheim this weekend. Renger van der Zande can already look back on a highly enlightening season during which he has been able to develop on a race-by-race basis. The Dutchman now looks forward to 2012 and is hoping for another full campaign in the series.
"This season has really flown by," says van der Zande. "My first DTM year has been entirely devoted to learning as a rookie and over the course of the season it's been an upward curve culminating at the most recent race in Valencia, where I finished as the highest-placed Mercedes driver.
"From now on it's called 'the silly season'; there are fewer seats available with Mercedes for next year, but I am determined to get one. For this weekend I hope the positive form from Valencia will continue and that we achieve another good result."
