Paul Di Resta, winner of the last DTM race at Brands Hatch on 6 September 2009 and winner of the 2008 DTM race in Barcelona:
"Last year we had a very good race in Barcelona. Four AMG Mercedes C-Class drivers finished in the points and I was able to win. Following my victory in Brands Hatch, I am hoping for another good performance here so that I can reduce the gap to the leaders. I am already looking forward to Barcelona. A great race and can hardly wait."
Gary Paffett, the best-placed Mercedes-Benz driver of the 2009 season, who is in third place in the championship chasing a lead of nine points after seven out of ten races:
"My extensive testing in Formula 1 means that I have done many laps of the GP circuit, so I know the track well. Although the DTM configuration is shorter, it is still a good circuit and one that I really enjoy driving. We have a good car, as we proved once again in Brands Hatch. In Barcelona, I will be focusing on closing the points gap to Timo Scheider. The 10kg additional weight following Paul's victory in the last race at Brands Hatch will not make things easy."
Mathias Lauda, a resident of Barcelona for the past 13 years:
"Needless to say, the DTM race in Barcelona is particularly special for me. I have lived in the Catalan city for the past 13 years, so you could call this my home race. I have already driven a number of races there in Formula 3000, GP2 and DTM and I also know the short configuration of the circuit very well. A number of my friends are coming to the race to support me. Those of us driving the 2008 C-Class will be 10kg lighter than the rest of the field, which will hopefully give us an advantage. My aim for Barcelona is to finish in a points-scoring position and do a good job."
Ralf Schumacher, who will drive in a current AMG Mercedes C-Class for the first time in Barcelona:
"I am really looking forward to Barcelona, it is a fantastic city and I am very fond of the circuit. Last year I finished 7th in a year-old car. As Paul's performance in Brands Hatch showed once again, our 2009 C-Class is capable of victory and we will all work hard to score as many points as possible in the forthcoming race."
Norbert Haug, Vice-President Mercedes-Benz Motorsport:
"We have won in Barcelona in each of the past two years and we intend to try to do the same in 2009. After four victories in seven races to date, we again have a 10kg weight disadvantage compared with the opposition, but we managed to win in Zandvoort despite this handicap and we will try to repeat this in Barcelona."
