* DNS for his qualifying lap. He missed the green light.(sleeping)

Race 1 was stopped in 1st lap because of a horrible fire accident. "John Winter's" Calibra was hit by Kris Nissen's Alfa at the left rear on a long straight. The Calibra broke out and crashed with 230 km/h into the barriers. It looked like an explosion. The car was burning all over while sliding back on the track. It took about 12, 13 very long seconds, then I could see John's helmet at the co-driver door. He got out slowly but unhurt, just a little burned in his face. 5 Marshalls with extinguishers could not put the fire out. The fire-brigade came much too late. The Calibra was burnt out completely. Lucky John!

Restart after 2 hours 10 minutes. Race 1 reduced from 38 to 33 laps +2 warm up laps.
