Audi A4 DTM again makes a good impression
Audi Sport Team Abt Sportsline and Audi Sport Infineon Team have just completed a hard week: The two Audi factory teams travelled from the DTM presentation in Hamburg, which attracted 22,000 spectators on Tuesday, directly to the official DTM test at Brno in the Czech Republic. The Audi A4 DTM again made a good impression during the final test days before the season opener. The Audi drivers reeled off approximately 5,000 problem free test kilometres between Thursday and Sunday. The six A4 DTM race cars will now be prepared at Audi Sport in Ingolstadt for the race debut on 18 April at Hockenheim.
Audi R8 with modified aerodynamics
Audi will unveil modified aerodynamics for the Audi R8 on Tuesday during the official Le Mans Endurance Series (LMES) test days. Whilst the previous year's regulations are valid in the American Le Mans Series (ALMS), a narrower rear wing is mandatory at Le Mans and in the 2004 LMES. Audi reworked the R8 in the wind tunnel and has made a new aerodynamic configuration available to its customer teams that retrieves some of the downforce initially lost as a result of the change.
Successful test on the Nordschleife
24h Nurburgring: Infineon Team Abt Sportsline collected more experience for the 24 Hour race in June during the opening round of the BF Goodrich Endurance Championship held on the Nurburgring-Nordschleife. The Abt-Audi TT-R of Patrick Huisman, Frank Stippler and Karl Wendlinger completed the three and a half hour race without technical problems. A puncture however, which unfortunately afflicted Frank Stippler at the entry to the 20 kilometre Nordschleife, dropped the trio back down the running order and prevented a top finishing position.
"Swedish" Audi A4 in new outfit
Team KMS Motorsport introduced its team for the Swedish Touring Car Championship (STCC) and presented the Audi A4 STCC for the first time in its new outfit on Tuesday at the Audi Forum Stockholm. Defending champion Fredrik Ekblom and Tommy Kristoffersson do not start the season with the familiar yellow, but in silver and red coloured cars.
