EMERY LOOKING TO BREAK INTO TOP TEN AT CARQUEST NORTHERN NATIONALS
STANTON, MI. -- He is the youngest Top Fuel Harley rider in IHRA competition, but he rides his G&H Jewelers/Jam-On Productions/Castrol Heavy Duty Lube-sponsored machine as if he was the class' elder statesman. Competing against men twice his age, this weekend at the CARQUEST Northern Nationals presented by Prolong Super Lubricants, Emery will be looking to go some rounds on Sunday and final crack the Top Ten in the Snap-on Drag Racing point standings. Currently he stands 11th in the standings.
Emery, 25, of Colton's Point, MD, last competed two weeks ago in front of his hometown fans at the AHDRA Mid-Atlantic Harley-Davidson Nationals at Maryland International Raceway in Budds Creek, MD. In blistering heat, he qualified 7th with a 7.19 and reached the semifinal where Jim McClure took him out.
At the most recent IHRA national event in upstate New York, Emery just missed making the field by thirty-one thousandths of a second.
"The Budd's Creek race was a great motivational factor for us," explained Emery. "We feel that it has helped to get us ready for Stanton. This next race will be a true test for us."
Top Fuel Harley qualifying for the CARQUEST Northern Nationals presented by Prolong Super Lubricants is set to begin Friday, July 30th with one session at 5 p.m. (EDT). Qualifying will conclude Saturday, July 31st with sessions at 12 noon and 7 p.m. Final eliminations are scheduled to begin Sunday, August 1st at 12 noon.

Fans will also be treated to new state of the art 48-foot Daktronics scoreboards, which replace the old 24-foot boards. The Motorplex has also added a new FM radio to broadcast public address announcements, making it possible to follow the racing up to three miles away. The track surface has also been filled and smoothed to provide close, side-by-side racing.
