DINWIDDIE, Va.. - The field has been set for the LIZZARD RACING ENGINES Top Sportsman at the IHRA ACDelco Nationals presented by Chevrolet in Dinwiddie, Va.

The top qualifier for the eight-car field was the Canadian-based Kasey Janzen. Janzen, who hails from Niagara Falls, ONT., pushed his supercharged Lumina to the number one position with an impressive 6.451/212.19 blast.

A distant second was Rockingham low qualifier Kenny Rucker, who pilots a 706-cubic inch motivated 1963 Corvette. Rucker was the quickest of the nitrous-injected machines with a 6.723/205.10.

Milt Decker was right on the heels of Rucker. Also piloting a 1963 Corvette, the Dover, Penn.-based Decker posted the third quickest with a 6.733/203.71.

Rounding out the top half of the field was former UDRA Pro Stock and past Quick Eight titlist Doug Mills. The quickest Ford qualifier pushed his mountain motored, nitrous-injected Thunderbird to a 6.794/205.57.

The balance of the field included Clarence Marsh, Jr. (6.925/196.76), Bob Schmidt (6.929/194.86), Tim DeCoff (6.973/198.90) and John Benoit (6.990/196.93).

Final eliminations are slated for this evening at 7 PM, EST.
