DINWIDDIE, VA. - Chris Holbrook,34, made the first attempt at the Virginia Motorsports Park racing surface during the CompetitionPlus.com Spring Open presented by Lizzard Racing Engines. The former IHRA Pro Stock driver made the first full pass of the event when he ran a 6.685/209.76.

The 2001 McAmis built Mustang has only been run one other time, in Texas January of this year. Earlier this season, the Livernois Motorsports 812-cubic inch Ford Hemi engine ran a 6.61 ET.

On the second pass of the day Holbrook eased out a consistent 6.69/207.15.

In addition, to Holbrook's impressive pass, other drivers have enjoyed smooth runs down the peak condition Virginia track.

The Fulton Competition powered, Pro Modified, '57 Chevy Bel-Air, driven by Carl Moyer blasted through the sixty-foot time at 1.006.

Pro Stock driver and professional welder Angelo Alesci pulled out a 6.720 ET on his first pass down Virginia Motorsports Park. On the second pass, the 2000 Chevrolet Monte Carlo, ran a 6.70/206.

Shannon "Iceman" Jenkins jumped off the line today on his first pass as if he were a Super Stocker. The newly built McAmis 67' Camaro bounced the tires after the launch. Jenkins let out of it and coasted to the end.
