Epping, N.H.-Ed Hoover added another first round loss to his season during the Parts Pro Northern Nationals at New England Dragway.

In the year 2000, Hoover's score card reads: one national event win, one semi-final finish, one quarter-final and five first round losses-but never-the-less, he's a fairly happy guy. The driver of the Paul Trussell-owned Corvette is still hanging onto the number three spot in the IHRA Summit Drag Racing Series point standings.

Hoover started the season with a bang; winning the Winter Nationals in Darlington, S.C., but it's been was downhill from there. Starting line troubles have plagued the Gilbert, S.C.-native. More times than not, Hoover's opponents have left him at the starting line forcing him to play 'catch-up', clocking quicker elapsed times but reaching the finish line thousandths of a second behind his adversary.

"The car runs the numbers [elapsed time] to win, but I definitely need to work on my reaction time," explained Hoover. "Obviously I'm disappointed in my win/loss record, but it's cool to be so high in the points. As for here at Epping, we broke a lifter and there's not much you can do about that."

Hoover will travel to Rockingham, N.C. to compete in CARQUEST Autumn Nations, Sept. 20-23.
