LAS VEGAS – A new class at The Strip will provide a “super quick” showdown as the quickest machines blast down the quarter-mile dragstrip during the Summit Racing E.T. Bracket Series presented by National Performance Center events. “We are working to promote a weekly show that is exciting for drivers and spectators,” said Mike Yurick, director of event operations at LVMS. “Our goal is to build the drag racing program at The Strip into one of the best in the nation. After listening to ideas contributed by our competitors, we believe the new Super Quick division will be a great addition at The Strip. The Super-Quick division, designated by the letters SQ, will be open to competitors capable of completing a pass with an E.T. of 7.50 – 9.99 seconds. The division will utilize a pro tree and require drivers to dial within 0.10 second of their qualifying time. Drivers will not be allowed to enter their Super Quick car in additional divisions. Entry fee for the Super Quick division will be $50. Entry for other E.T. bracket divisions will be $50 for Pro, $40 for Sportsman and Motorcycle and $25 for Street. Gates are set to open Saturday at 1 p.m. for Junior Dragsters and 4 for bracket racers. Qualifying is set to begin at 5 p.m. with eliminations at 7:30. In addition to E.T. bracket racing this weekend, The Strip is set to host Friday Night Drags. Gates are scheduled to open Friday at 5 p.m. with racing from 6-11. Spectator admission at The Strip is $8 for adults, $6 for senior and military and $2 for children 6-12. Children 5 and under are free. Admission for competitors on Friday evening is $15 for car and driver and $10 for crew. High-school students can compete for $10 with a valid I.D.
