Wichita Native Heads to NHRA Finals in California
TOPEKA, Kansas -- A good weekend of racing in September has Jason Novacek heading to Pomona, Calif. to vie for a national title in the NHRA Summit Racing Series National Championship.
The 36-year old Wichita native and 2003 Heartland Park Topeka Pro Series Champion will represent Heartland Park Topeka at Pomona Raceway during the Automobile Club of Southern California NHRA Finals, Nov. 11-14.
Novacek won the Summit Racing Series Division 5 E.T. Finals at Heartland Park Topeka in September and is one of seven winners from the NHRA's geographical divisions that advanced to Pomona.
Winners in four different categories are competing for $5,000, an NHRA Gold Card which provides free entry to any NHRA-sanctioned event in 2005, a champion's trophy, and a champion's jacket. All qualifiers who attend the Pomona race are guaranteed a minimum of $3,500.
