For Immediate Release FP Performance sponsors special Spring Nationals qualifying bonus
BRISTOL, Tenn. -- Officials at FP Performance Products have announced the company will sponsor a special Top Dragster qualifying program for the 33rd annual Spring Nationals presented by Parts Pro, to be held June 6-8 at the Bristol Dragway. The race is the second of eight races in the IHRA Snap-on Tools Drag Racing Series. The program will award a bonus of $100 to each of the division’s quickest eight qualifiers for the race. In addition, FP Performance Products has announced it will also sponsor the year-end Top Dragster Shootout, to be held during the running of the Snap-on Finals at Darlington (S.C.) International Dragway, Sept. 25-28. The shootout will feature the season-long fastest eight cars in the Top Dragster (handicap) category. Racers in that division will earn points in national event qualifying during the season in an attempt to qualify for the season-ending FP Performance Products Shootout. At each IHRA Snap-on Tools national event, the top qualifier in Top Dragster will earn 32 points, and that total will decrease by one point throughout the 32-car field. In addition, competitors will receive five points per round won. There will be a Quick-8 Top Dragster program in addition to the Top Dragster (handicap) FP Performance Products Shootout. The total payout for the FP Performance Top Dragster Shootout will be $6, 500, including $3,500 to the winner, $1,000 to the runnerup, $500 each to the semifinalists, and $250 each to the four first round exits. The Skokie, Ill.-based company’s representatives said that additional bonuses will be available for those IHRA Top Dragster drivers who elect to run an FP Performance electronic fuel and spark control system at the Snap-on Finals. The new product line will be available in July, an FP Performance spokesperson said.
