HANS Presents at 2005 IHRA Awards Banquet

Atlanta, Georgia (November 18, 2005) - HANS Performance Products, worldwide leader of the International Award Winning HANS Device, has been invited to present at the 2005 IHRA Awards Banquet. Co-inventor Dr. Robert Hubbard and General Motors Motorsports Safety Manager, Tom Gideon, will be speaking to racers about the prevention of head and neck injuries and cockpit safety in racing.

The invitation comes from the IHRA's Technical Director of Competition and Technical Services, Mike Baker. When asked for comment, Mike said: "We are very pleased to have Dr. Hubbard and Tom Gideon as speakers during the racers seminar for the 2005 IHRA Awards Banquet. This is an excellent opportunity for our competitors and all related parties to obtain valuable information about the HANS Device, particularly, how the advancements have contributed to taking motorsports and driver safety to the next level."

Dr. Hubbard has over 20 years experience in the field of racing restraint function in crash dummy testing and racetrack experience. Dr. Hubbard stated that: "Everyone from Top Fuel dragsters to jr. dragsters needs a HANS Device. It's not about how fast you go anymore; it's about how sudden a stop you have." When asked for further comment, Dr. Hubbard detailed: "Even IHRA Top Fuel Champion Clay Millican recognizes the benefits of having a HANS Device. After all, it can sometimes be the difference between life and death."

Also presenting is Safety Manager Tom Gideon. Tom has always provided an unbiased opinion about the HANS Device but not about head and neck restraints. Recently, Tom noted: "We're going to need head and neck restraints as long as we race. Helmets are required for obvious reasons and because our restraint systems work the way they do, you have to have something to restrain your head."
