MILLICAN SETS IHRA CAREER RECORD ON GOODYEAR TIRES
Clay Millican, racing on a set of Goodyear Eagle Dragway Specials, won his 26th career IHRA Top Fuel event and set a series record on the way. Millican won the class final in the Bethesda Softworks Northern Nationals at US 131 Motorsports Park in Martin, Mich.
Millican became the winningest Top Fuel racer in series history, breaking the record set by Hall of Famer "Big Daddy" Don Garlits. The record had stood since 1979.
Millican and his Werner Enterprises team have been the dominant in IHRA Top Fuel competition for several years. He beat Tim Cullinan in the final at US 131 Motorsports Park with a run of 4.740 seconds and was clocked at 303.91 mph.
Millican is the runaway leader in Top Fuel points.
