ALESCI FAILS TO QUALIFY AT THE NORTH AMERICAN NATIONALS
EPPING, NH--- Pro Stock racing can be a fickle adventure. One minute you're on top of the world and the next minute, you're struggling for survival. Cleveland, Ohio's Angelo Alesci found that out the hard way. The veteran Pro Stock driver and recent World Nationals titlist fell out of the show after failing to improve during a phenomenal Nite Of Fire session at the North American Nationals that saw runs as quick as 6.6 seconds. This was a frustrating affair for Alesci, who is a very competitive person.
"We tried some things for the final session and they didn't work out the way we had anticipated," explained Alesci. "I'm not pleased with this kind of performance, but I know it is part of the game. Don't count us out, yet. We will come back at the next event and we will push hard to regain our edge."
Alesci was qualified 11th going into the final session with a superb 6.757/203.95. However, when he failed to improve on that time during the final session, his status fell like a rock. Favorable conditions saw him drop seven spots in the one session as other drivers improved.
Alesci will attempt to reverse his fortunes in two weeks at the President's Cup Nationals in Budds Creek, Maryland.
