CORDOVA, Ill. - Sponsorships make the racing world go round and round, but when you manage to land backing from an event sponsor just in time for their title-rights national event, it's always a good thing. With that in mind, you'll know exactly why Terry McMillen is smiling from ear-to-ear when he rolls through the gates of Cordova Dragway Park for this weekend's IHRA Amalie Oil Summer Nationals in Cordova, Ill., he'll be carrying the livery of Amalie Oil.

McMillen, 47, of Elkhart, Ind., will be sponsored at the fourth race on the eleven-race IHRA Summit Drag Racing Series Event, to be held June 14-16.

The electrical engineer, who doubles as a Funny Car driver, has worked with Amalie Oil's Ed Browning to develop a marketing partnership that would benefit them both. This partnership could signal better things to come in the future.

"What better way to demonstrate the performance of your motor oil than in a motor generating more than 2000 hp and covers the quarter-mile in less than 6 seconds with speeds of 230 mph," explained McMillan, who reached the quarter-finals of the recently completed Mopar Parts Canadian Nationals in Grand Bend. "Since switching to Amalie Oil we have eliminated our push rod failure that plagued our team in the past. Our car has also recorded its best elapsed times ever and has allowed the team to hold the 7th position in points after three races en-route to an IHRA championship. We have one goal and that is to make Amalie Products the products of choice. It's a proven fact that our IHRA races and fans are very product loyal."

McMillan will enter this event as the seventh raked driver in the IHRA Summit points standings.
