Australian Drag racing legend and world burnout king Victor Bray has launched the official Drag Racing program for next month's 10th anniversary Honda Indy 300.
Exhibiting the power of his specially built '57 Castrol Chevrolet in Pit Lane MacIntosh Island, Bray displayed some of the brut force fans can expect from this year's demonstration event - stopping traffic in the process.
"The Honda Indy 300 is really one of the highlights of the year. The people come to see us put on a show and we won't let them down, today is a taste of that," said Mr Bray.
In addition to the Friday night Triple M drags spectacular, Bray will also be performing his famous burnout routine at different locations around the track on Saturday and Sunday of the Honda Indy 300.
The Triple M Drags presentation has developed into an enormously popular tradition at the Honda Indy 300 with a record crowd expected to cram the northern end of pit straight on Friday night October 13, according to event General Manager, Geoff Jones.
"The popularity of the Triple M Drags grows each year. It's not a night for serious racing but a chance for riders and drivers to out do each other revving up the crowd," said Mr Jones.
"With Victor Bray again leading the charge, fans can be assured of some fantastic showmanship in what is going to be an entertainment spectacular."
While Victor Bray will undeniably be the biggest drawcard at the Triple M Drags, organiser Rob Oberg announced today that he will be accompanied by 13-time Australian Dragster Champion Jim Read, driving a 5500-horsepowered Top Fuel Dragster.
"The line up for this year's 10th anniversary drags demonstration is nothing short of sensational. Fans can expect plenty of burnout action," said Mr Oberg.
The Triple M Drags will be just a small part of an on-track entertainment spectacular which will also include stunt motorcycle riders and the Warner Bros. Movie World Stunt team.
