Waller opens 2003 season at Big River Sand Drags with big win.

BONNE TERRE, Mo. -- (March 8, 2003) To say Saturday was a big day in Jason Waller's life would be a huge understatement. Earlier this year Waller purchased the track from John McCulloch and Saturday was not only opening day his new track, it was also his birthday.

After having to work non-stop on the facility to get it ready for opening day, Waller put the final touches on his own ATV just hours before he took his first green light of the season, but it was all worth the wait. Not only did he win first place in the Super Pro class, he went on to defeat second place finisher Robbie Lingle of Anna, Ill. to take home top eliminator honors also.

"I'm exhausted, but it was a lot of fun," Waller said after the races. In the Pro ATV class, Justin King of Cadet was the first place winner with Randy Coleman of Wentzville taking second place. Coleman then won the top eliminator race over King.

In the ATV-1 class, Allie Glatczyk of Potosi was the top eliminator and first place winner over Eric McCoy of Potosi.

Racing action at Big River Sand Drags will continue this Saturday with the annual "Play Day" for all classes. Activities begin at Noon. Then on March 22 they will make-up the previously washed-out ATV only race from March 1. Gates open at 10 a.m. with time trials at noon and racing at 2 p.m.
