The Dakar Continues Tomorrow After A Cancelled Stage
COPIAPO – Due to the bad weather conditions of the last days, snow and rain in the Andes Mountains, the sixth stage of the Dakar 2012 was cancelled. The day was only a long road connection of 660 km to arrive to Chile, to the bivouac in Copiapo by following an itinerary longer than the one planned. Also, part of the logistic equipment of the Dakar will arrive to the bivouac tonight, later than planned.
The race will start again tomorrow with the loop around Copiapo, in the Atacama Desert. After a road connection of 154 kilometers, riders will face a special test of 419 km that will have 57 km neutralized in the middle. It will be a long and difficult stage in the Chilean desert, where Francisco Lopez and his Aprilia are waiting to run.
