"Manpower 1 team clinches title with fourth victory

At the eighth and final round of the Dutch Volkswagen Endurance Cup at Zandvoort the "Manpower 1 team with drivers Ronald Morien and Ferry Duivenvoorde celebrated its fourth win of the season and thus clinched the title with a dominant lead. Second place in the race went to the "Jaguar Racing team with drivers Cees Langeveld, Niels Bowhuis and Machiel Rijsdijk. A total of 38 Volkswagen teams had started from the grid in sunny autumn weather, after eight hours 28 of them crossed the finish line.

"Dakar tests with Volkswagen Race Touareg 2 in Morocco

The Volkswagen team is preparing for the upcoming Dakar Rally in Argentina and Chile at the beginning of January with further tests. From 18 to 26 October suspension set-ups and long runs of the Race Touareg 2 around Erfoud, Morocco, are on the agenda. The tests are run with two of the 280-hp "Dakar" prototypes and the driver pairings Carlos Sainz/Michel Périn (E/F), Giniel de Villiers/Dirk von Zitzewitz (ZA/D) and Mark Miller/Ralph Pitchford (USA/ZA).

ADAC Volkswagen Polo Cup
International exchange students are guests at Hockenheim

At the final race of the ADAC Volkswagen Polo Cup guest entrants will provide additional colour: as part of the Volkswagen exchange programme, young drivers from the American Jetta TDI Cup and the Japanese Volkswagen GTI Cup will compete in Hockenheim. So far, the exchange students of the German juniors cup have achieved more than respectable results at their reciprocal visits around the world: Shane Williams won at his guest stint in the USA, Maximilian Sandritter finished as the runner-up in Japan and Ignacio Espinosa clinched second place as well at Zhuhai, China. After the season in Germany has ended, the champion and the best rookie get to compete as guests in the South African Polo Cup.
